The cookie cutter shark, also known as the cigar shark, is a small dogfish shark that inhabits warm ocean waters typically close to islands. These sharks earn the name ‘cookie cutter’ due to their distinctive bite marks, which are characterised by large round plugs of flesh gouged out of their prey.
